1 dead, 3 injured after plane crash in Wise County

The pilot of a small plane is dead an three passengers, including two children, were hurt when the plane crashed Thursday night.

The Cessna 172 single-engine plane went down shortly after taking off from Rhome Meadows Airport in Wise County. That's 30 miles northwest of Fort Worth.

A man and a child were flown to hospitals in Fort Worth. Another child was taken by ground ambulance. It's not yet clear how serious their injuries are.

There's no word on what caused the crash.

Federal Aviation Administration investigators will be at the crash scene Friday.
