Presidential Pizza

The folks at Greenville Pizza Company are getting into the Election Day spirit with these presidential pizzas.

Presidential Pizza

Purchase stencil from Ultimate-Pumpkin-Stencils.com (or any other place you find it). Download your stencil and print. Laminate your stencil/Cut out shaded areas with exacto-knife

Sauce your pizza dough. Carefully place stencil on sauce and fill in the holes with Parmesan cheese or your choice of toppings.

Carefully remove stencil and bake your pie to Presidential perfection!

Pizza Sauce

2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 cup chopped onion            
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic                  
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon fennel seeds, ground
1 teaspoon basil
1 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Melt olive oil in a large skillet. Cook and stir onion and garlic in the oil until the onion is translucent.

Stir tomato sauce and tomato paste into the onion mixture until smooth; add Parmesan cheese, fennel seeds, basil, oregano, salt and pepper. Stir the sauce and bring to a slow simmer; cook at a slow simmer for 1 hour.
