Camp Mystic announced plans to reopen its Cypress Lake property for Summer 2026, implementing major safety upgrades to comply with and exceed new state regulations enacted after the deadly July 4th flooding at its main location.

The proposal follows new legislation that aims to protect children from disasters after the July 4 catastrophe claimed the lives of 27 campers and staffers at a popular Central Texas camp.
