Richardson police made several arrests Monday in a two-year-old cold murder case after a tip from a man who was in jail.

Police found Jeffrey Brandon Youngblood, 21, dead in a car in his driveway in a 400 block of Creekside Drive on April 1, 2014. He was found with a gunshot wound in his upper torso and the driver side window broken in. A piece of shotgun wadding was found, but no weapon was found.

Police interviewed a witness after his car was found in Youngblood’s driveway. He admitted to police he was with Youngblood in his car that night and were smoking marijuana and rapping. He said four black men approached them and surrounded the car, with one of them holding a shotgun. He said he got out of the car and ran away while Youngblood was arguing with the men. He said heard a single gunshot as he was running away back to his house.

During the investigation, police discovered Youngblood was well-known for selling marijuana from his car in the driveway behind his house.

Richardson police say the murder case went cold until a person came forward two weeks ago with information. He told detectives he was in jail on the night of Youngblood’s murder for an unrelated case and had heard about his murder. He said a couple of ‘Eat Greedy Click’ gang members told him a group of their members was out looking for “licks” because one of them needed rent money and came across Youngblood’s car. He said the group cleaned the shotgun used in the murder and buried the weapon in a Garland neighborhood known as ‘The Maze.’

With the new information, police arrested Quincy Nathaniel Jones, 21, Eric Gerone Gray, 22, Lejohnathon Dkota Fulton, 21, and Elijahwon Glispyfert King, 22. They have all been charged with capital murder for Youngblood’s murder.

Jones admitted to police he was facing eviction in April 2014 and needed money for rent. He said he shot Youngblood after he demanded money from him but did not comply.

The murder suspects’ bonds have not been set.
