Rescuers suspend search for car spotted in Trinity River
DALLAS - Dallas Fire-Rescue’s swift water rescue team searched parts of the Trinity River Wednesday for a vehicle that was spotted in the water.
Dallas police said witnesses called 911 around 10:15 a.m. to report seeing a car in the water near S. Central Expressway and Great Trinity Forest Way, just east of Interstate 45.
A city worker told FOX 4 he saw a small white car with a man sitting on the back. It went into the water and drifted down.
DFR launched several boats to search for the car with possibly someone inside.
Rescuers in one boat ended up needing help because of the strong current and engine trouble. They held on to a tree while waiting for a second boat to arrive.
Both boats eventually made it to shore. They did not find the car or anyone in the water.
