Police find pipe bomb making materials in Fort Worth mobile home
FORT WORTH, Texas - Following a standoff at a Fort Worth mobile home, officers went inside and found firearms and pipe bomb-making materials Friday morning.
The Fort Worth Police Department was called out just before 5:30 a.m. for a shots fired call at a mobile home park located in the 700 block of Leisure Drive.
Responding officers were told a man was shooting a gun inside his mobile home.
There was a standoff with the suspect, who refused to leave the mobile home, but SWAT used tear gas to get him out of his home.
Police say the man was armed with a gun when he came out, but complied with officers and put the gun down. He was taken into custody at about 7 a.m.
When SWAT went into the home to clear the scene, they found several firearms and "multiple pipe bomb making materials."
They immediately evacuated the mobile home and the FWFD Arson and Bomb Squad was called to the scene.
