Mother found slain at Rowlett home

A mother was found slain in her Rowlett home on Friday.

Officers were called to a house on Americas Cup near Yacht Club Drive at noon from a resident of the house.

Inside, police found the body of 37-year-old Laura Ann Grillo in a pool of blood. Investigators say they found evidence of trauma to her body, but declined to elaborate.

There are no suspects at this time.

FOX 4 spoke with a close neighbor of Grillo’s. Grillo was reportedly set to get married next Saturday and had just picked up her wedding dress.

The neighbor said Grillo has three children, ages 3, 10 and 13. They are reportedly with a relative.

The neighbor got a call from the Grillo’s fiancé when Grillo had not picked up the 3-year-old from pre-school.

Neighbors say they had seen the victim recently and she seemed like her usual self.              

They say she was a very loving mother, who served as a homeroom mom.
