Hometown Hero: Madame Suzelle Poole

You will be amazed when you see Madame Suzelle Poole dance.  This London-born ballerina is 77 years old and has been dancing for seven decades.

She's danced all over the world. For 10 years, she was the soloist for the Houston Ballet. She's also a dance teacher at Royale Ballet Dance Academy in Dallas. Her students are 3 to 63. The Dallas resident is also a choreographer.

Every six weeks, she tries to dance in the community for free at nursing homes or schools.  We covered her performance en pointe at Friends Place, an adult day care center in Richardson. Her level of fitness and dedication to and love for dance are inspiring.

I asked if she has many aches and pains and she said very few. She considers herself fortunate to still be able to dance; something she loves to do.
