Hometown Hero: Dylan Page

15-year-old Dylan Page loves baseball. He plays third base and left field for The Outlaws.

His ninth grade teacher, Mrs. April May, challenged the class to take their passion and turn it into something to help people. Dylan's putting on a charity baseball game to benefit local families of police officers who were killed in the line of duty.

His late grandfather didn't suffer a line of duty death. But because of River Oaks Police Officer Edward Sherif, blue is in Dylan's blood. The recent death of Dallas Police Officer Rogelio Santander moved Dylan to want to do something to help local police families of fallen officers.

The Back the Blue charity baseball game will be Saturday, May 26 at 2:30 p.m. at the Hurst Community Park at 601 Precinct Line Road in Hurst.

Dylan designed fliers and a t-shirt which will sell for $15. All of the t-shirt sales and donations will be given to C.O.P.S., short for Concerns of Police Survivors.

13,14, and 15-year-olds in the Tri-Cities Baseball League will play police officers from Hurst, Bedford and North Richland Hills.
