Bastrop ISD says that 10 students have been taken to the hospital after a bus crash.

Officials say Bus 220 was carrying about 20 students from Cedar Creek High School, Cedar Creek Middle School and Cedar Creek Intermediate School when the crash happened at Tucker Hill Road and Highway 71.

Texas DPS says the bus driver reported he had a green light and was turning right onto Highway 71. At the same time, an 18-wheeler was coming westbound on Highway 71 who reported having a yellow light. The semi-truck driver said he tried to stop and was unable to. DPS says he reportedly took evasive action and hit the shoulder, but wasn't able to stop the truck from hitting the rear of the school bus.
