'Person of interest' wanted for Duncanville's first murder of the year
DUNCANVILLE, Texas - Police need help finding the person who shot and killed an 18-year-old man at a Duncanville hotel overnight.
The Duncanville Police Department released surveillance photos of a person of interest in the case. Investigators are hoping someone recognizes him.
The deadly shooting happened at the Roadway Inn off Interstate 20 at Camp Wisdom Road. Police said there was some sort of altercation in the parking lot around 1:45 a.m. and shots were fired.
When officers got to the scene they found a man collapsed in the hallway of the hotel. He made it inside the building after he had been shot, police said.
The 18-year-old victim was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police have interviewed witnesses, including some hotel guests and employees. FOX 4 spoke to one woman who saw the man in the hotel lobby and tried to help him after the shooting.
“We were all crying. We believed he was dead. We were all crying. I prayed for him and I touched his forehead and I just asked God to watch over him,” said Sherma Morgan.
This is Duncanville's first murder of the year. There were no murders in the city in 2017.
