Last Hot Day! Ever? No. But for a while.
Upper 90s today. Mostly sunny. Light winds (air pollution watch) and a Heat Index just under 105. Not fun.
Cold front will trigger storms near the Red River into Oklahoma by the evening hours, and some will survive into areas north of the MPLEX. Main threats are gusty winds and heavy rain (up to 40%). Storms will weaken later at night into AM as they head into the MPLEX.
The cold front moves through early in the day, but slows down enough to trigger PM storms from DFW south.Highs will range from 80s north...to 90 Metro..to the 90s south.
We all get into the cooler air Wednesday with more clouds and scattered showers. Highest coverage will be south and west, but still 30% Metro. Temps should stay in the 80s!
Friday looks dry for most. A little extra sun should get us near or just above 90. Any shower look to be south.
Then our attention turns to the GULF where a storm may impact areas from Houston south to Brownsville.
Depending on the speed and location...we could have some heavier rain (especially SOUTH) this weekend...OR if the storm takes a different turn, a drier weekend. Either way highs will be below average this last weekend in August!
