Possible active shooter situation cleared in Floresville, Texas

The situation has been cleared after police responded to a possible active shooter situation.

According to FOX 7 reporter Ashley Paredez, this was happening near the Floresville Water Tower in Floresville, Texas. Unofficial reports say the search began for a possible active shooter after a man holding a weapon was seen in a field near the Veterans Affair Hospital.

Another individual is also claiming to have heard two gun shots in the area. 

Local pastors had organized a community-wide prayer gathering to be held at the Floresville High School football stadium on Wednesday, November 8, 2017. 

The community-wide prayer gathering was scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

The event was planned as a time of prayer for the victims of the deadly mass-shooting which took place at the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs, Texas. 

Local and state leaders had been invited to participate in the event as well.

United States Vice President Mike Pence flew into Texas earlier today for prayer services that were being held for the twenty-six victims of the deadly mass shooting that took place at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas on Sunday, November 5, 2017. 

Vice President Mike Pence was expected to deliver remarks at the prayer service. 

Texas Governor Greg Abbott is also expected to attend the prayer service.
