AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) - You've heard of stories of people stealing stuff from your porch while you're gone, but in Colorado, it's more of a case of something left behind. One man’s doorbell security system apparently caught a delivery man urinating on his porch.
William Washington told FOX 31 News in Denver that he and his kids recently moved into the Aurora neighborhood. But this was not the kind of housewarming gift they expected.
"It took me a second to even realize what was happening,” he said, replaying the surveillance video. "It's not until I see the puddle forming below him.”
Washington says the delivery driver left more than an Amazon full of Christmas presents behind.
"Before I even realized it was an Amazon delivery person, I'm thinking, 'Why is this person doing this to me? What did I do? I just bought this house.' And then when I realized it was an Amazon delivery person, then I thought, 'Why would you do this on your job?’"
Washington set out to put a name on the nuisance. He credits technology with helping him collect his own set of clues.
"The Ring doorbells aren't small. They look like cameras. They are pretty big, really hard to miss,” he continued. “If he was doing it intentionally, it was a really dumb thing to do intentionally."
According to FOX 31, an Amazon spokesman said the driver no longer works for their partner delivery company.
Either way, the husband and father of two says the rudeness won't ruin his family's new-house harmony.
“Who comes to a random person's doorstep and just starts urinating on it?"
