Fort Worth police said a 3-year-old boy died on Friday after he was found in a car.
Police said children were playing in the yard at a home in the 3800 block of Waldorf Street when they believe Ke'Andre Goodman climbed into a parked car.
"My son was a handsome, handsome little boy," said his mother Kendra Wells Goodman. "Everybody loved him, he loved everybody, especially his brothers and his sister."
Ke'Andre's parents found him and he was transported to the hospital.
Police said the parents believe the child was in the hot car for at least 45 minutes.
One of seven siblings, three year old Ke'Andre Ivy Goodman loved the colors red and black, his dog, and carrying these tools to help his dad fix up cars.
"He did love to work on cars, he'd be out there trying to help his dad, get out there with the tools. He was trying to help," said Goodman.
Fort Worth police believe Ke'Andre's death was heat-related.
Paramedics with Med Star say even on a cooler day, it doesn't take long for deadly effects of the sun to kick in.
"It could be very quick, it could take less than 30 minutes depending on the age of the patient, how hot the car is," said Marshall Sharp, field operations supervisor for Med Star.
Ke'Andre Goodman is the 7th child in Texas to die in a hot car so far this year.
Four of those children were from the DFW area.
"One is too many, but four, summer is just being started, so yea, that's more than normal," said Sharp.
Child Protective Services has been in contact with this family before, and De'Andre's six siblings are now in foster care.
A GoFundMe account has been set up to help with funeral arrangements.
