DeSoto track coach is among the COVID-19 deaths reported in Dallas County

One of the Dallas County men who died is being identified as Orlando McDaniel - a well-known North Texas track coach. 

DeSOTO, Texas - A well-known North Texas track coach is among the latest COVID-19 deaths in Dallas County.

Orlando McDaniel coached athletes around the world. Most recently he led the North Texas Cheetahs track team.

His athletes were saddened to hear of his passing Saturday.

The county health department said McDaniel had no underlying health problems.

The former LSU track star and football player was 59.
