Deadly wreck closes Highway 380 in McKinney

Two people were killed and several were injured in a major accident that involved an SUV, a truck, a Suburban and a tanker truck.

The crash happened around 2:15 p.m. Monday on Highway 380 near Country Road 330 in McKinney. A spokesman for the Department of Public Safety said a white SUV was heading west on 380 when it suddenly sideswiped the truck in the adjacent lane.

That truck then crossed into eastbound traffic and hit a tan Chevy Suburban head-on. The Suburban was then hit by a tanker truck also going eastbound. The force of the collision knocked the tanker onto its side.

The driver of the Surburban, identified as 87-year-old Alfred Mock of Princeton, died at the scene. One of his passengers, 60-year-old Angela Mock, later died at the hospital.

A total of nine other people were hurt in the crash, including four teenagers. The 16-year-old driver of the truck, a 17-year-old passenger in the truck and an 81-year-old passenger in the Suburban suffered serious injuries.

Traffic was closed in both directions due to the wreck and investigation.
