Things thawed out across North Texas on Thursday. But with temperatures dropping back below freezing overnight, many school districts made the decision to close or delay school on Friday.
Among the list of districts to cancel school for Friday are Fort Worth, Arlington, Plano, Frisco and Allen ISDs.
Dallas ISD originally planned to start classes on a delay, but reversed its decision Friday morning because of the dangerous driving conditions. DISD schools will be closed on Friday.

As sunset neared bringing the threat for refreezing, there were signs Thursday’s warmer temps and rain had not yet fully flushed away the ice.
Sidewalks and some neighborhood roads ended up being a major factor in some districts' decision to close, yet again, on Friday.
Superintendent Marcelo Cavazos says Arlington ISD made the decision to close, noting there are several spots around schools that have yet to improve.
"I would rather error on the side of safety than not," he said. "Where students are coming out of their homes and walking to school on sidewalks and things like that, where the busses are and all across our communities, not just the main thoroughfares. And those are simply not at the point where we feel that it's a safe travel and safe experience to be walking."
Among the many districts announcing plans to close Friday was Fort Worth ISD. There was still some patchy ice hanging around the campus of Oakhurst Elementary.
Irving ISD also announced its closure.
Dallas ISD and some other districts planned to open on a two-hour delay with warmer temps expected to improve conditions as the day goes on. Many changed that decision early Friday morning after getting a look at the road conditions that led to hundreds of crashes and at least two deaths.
