Dak Prescott says Cowboys planning to surprise people in 2018

Dak Prescott thinks big things are in store for the Dallas Cowboys in 2018.

During an interview before the Errol Spence Jr.-Spencer Ocampo boxing match Saturday at the Ford Center, Prescott said that the team was planning on “surprising a lot of people.”

“We are going to be an exciting team this year,” Prescott told Showtime. “A lot of new faces. I think that’s what you’re going to find: a lot of new guys that we have on this team and in this organization that can make plays.”

Among the new faces for the Cowboys in 2018 are linebacker Leighton Vander Esch, receivers Tavon Austin and Allen Hurns and defensive end Kony Ealy. The team will be without two familiar faces after the release of Dez Bryant and the retirement of Jason Whitten.

It’ll be a crucial year for Prescott, who struggled down the stretch last season, throwing 13 interceptions.

Prescott also threw his support behind Dallas-based Spence Jr., who defended his undefeated record after a first-round knockout of Ocampo in front of a hometown crowd.

The Cowboys start their season Sept. 9 on FOX4 against Carolina.
