Robbers from ‘Bird Box' challenge-style chase make first court appearance

The bank robbery suspects that led police on a wild 32-mile chase Thursday from Hurst to Oak Cliff appeared in federal court on Friday morning.

The robbers, dubbed the 'Halo Bandits' by FBI agents, were wearing the same clothes they were arrested in. The hearing was brief and ended with the suspects getting court-appointed attorneys.

Precious Alexander, Antranette Canady, Marcello Shofner and Cedric Burns will remain held in federal custody.

Burns has previously served time for bank robbery and was released in October 2017.

Thousands watched online and on television as the hood flew up over the front windshield as the ford focus midway through the chase. The three people in the car eventually bailed out in a Dallas neighborhood, but were quickly captured.

Another hearing is set for next week.
